Where we are

Salento is a small piece of land, nestled between two seas but rich in history, places to visit, and places that will capture your heart. Depending on the days you have available, you can organize your activities.

Podere43 is strategically located between the beaches of Alimini—both private and public—and those of Frassanito.

Not far from the Podere, Frassanito beach overlooks the area. Its seabed is a mix of sand and flat rocks, making it difficult to access, yet for this very reason, it remains a popular spot and a paradise when the Sirocco wind blows. This beach, surrounded by high dunes that plunge into the sea, can be reached by crossing the lush greenery of the Mediterranean scrub. The area offers both private and public beaches; the bay is bordered by sand dunes and a thick pine forest where you can relax in the shade. Frassanito is also the perfect setting for surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, and other water sports, while enjoying the refreshing Salento breeze.

A five-minute drive takes you to the beautiful beaches of Alimini, delightfully surrounded by high sand dunes, where the last vestiges of Mediterranean scrub emerge from the dense pine forests that grow in the surrounding area. The sea here boasts a variety of shades, contrasting with the characteristically soft sand, sometimes verging on black due to the presence of ferrous minerals.

Also near Podere43 is Bahia dei Turchi, named after the landing of Turkish warriors during the 15th-century siege of Otranto. It's a pristine sandy cove, protected by a cliff and surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. The beach offers both public areas and a private beach.

Heading north, a short distance from Podere43, the landscape changes completely as you look out from the high cliffs to admire the Faraglioni di Sant'Andrea and the beautiful Torre dell'Orso. Other beaches and unique spots, such as Roca with the Grotta della Poesia (Poetry Cave), Bauxite Lake, the Bahia dell'Orte, and the Punta Palascìa Lighthouse, remain within easy reach.

Otranto deserves a special place. Take the time this place deserves, visit the Cathedral with the oldest floor mosaic in Europe, look out from the ramparts overlooking the port area, wander the narrow streets of the historic center that exude the authentic history of an ancient fishing village handed down over the years.

"Otranto is an anagram of returned.
This is a place you always return to.
That you carry with you like a beautiful memory."
